What is Google +1 Button?

ou may be wondering about Googles new social media addition to the market, Google +1. You may think this is similar to the Facebook Like Button but Google +1 is highly dependent on your social network that is based on your Google Profile. Google has already stated that Google +1 will not change Quality Score.

Comparative to other Google products, the Google +1 will be integrated across all of their product offerings. One problem that we see is the implementation of Google +1. There are some similarities to the Facebook Like Button, the Google +1 button is designed to be the Google equivalent of the Facebook Like button. Essentially Google +1 will function a lot like Facebook’s “Like” button . Just like the Facebook’s “Like” button, the +1 button will appear alongside organic search results and next to Pay-Per-Click advertisements. Google +1 is just one of their steps to engage into the social media space.

Google +1 Purpose

The purpose of the +1 button is for Google to continue to help its users discover the best search results. The Google +1 button is an integral step in the evolution of tailoring Search Engine results to the individual. The first-place Google +1 will show up is in your search results . Currently, the Google +1 button is only for English results from google.com. You can say that Google +1 is Google’s very own Facebook “like” button with a few tweaks. We feel that the +1 button is basically Google’s response to the Facebook Like button. For now, Google’s +1 button is a nearly identical copy of Facebook’s Like feature.

Google’s latest revision of the +1 button will allow publishers to embed the button into their web properties. The problem with the +1 button is there is very little incentive for anyone to actually click it. Perhaps the biggest draw for site publishers is that Google +1 can also be used to recommend AdWords pay-per-click adverts. So Google +1 will be used in the same way to help entice PPC.

Similarities to Facebook Like Button

Just to be clear, the Google +1 will not be a facebook killer since they are slightly different. The Google +1 is about social data and social analytics. I think your comments thoroughly prove why Google +1 is such a bad idea. Yes I think Google +1 button is really good to promote your website. The +1 button will also be available for ads in Google Adwords.

The +1 button is about social interaction – reminding yourself, and showing friends, pages that you like. So Google +1 is not about conversation but more about interaction with other people. This Google +1 is kind of like a website voting system. On the other side of things, some state that the Google +1 Button is the most complicated and confusing button yet.
