Alternate Media Services

Some other social media monitoring services include Radian6, Alterian M2, Actionly, Cision Point, Heartbeat, Scout Labs.  For example, Dell is using Radian6  as their social media monitoring tool which power its data collection.  Its important to consider that your social media monitoring tool includes Facebook data. We have analyzed a few of these social media listening tools and found that most of them get the data is via  Facebook’s Social Graph API .  It seems that the social media monitoring is still vague on the data they present.  There are some inconsistencies in the data that different social media monitoring tools produce which is probably related to their collection of data and parsing of data.

Remember that when you are setting up a social media monitoring tool your focus is on listening and responding.  Its all about your plan of action and it starts with listening to your market. Some social media monitoring tools allow you to track  where  conversations and social mentions originate.
